Suzy Perette brought the signature silhouettes of Christian Dior’s “New Look” to women across America. Thanks to a licensing arrangement between Suzy Perette’s owner, Sidney Blauner, and Christian Dior, American women could access these highly desirable Parisian designs for the first time. Created in the 1950s, this elegant dress has many of the hallmarks of the “New Look” with its fitted waist, wide boat neckline and mid-length flared skirt. The smooth black silk is printed with dramatic, clashing red roses. Three-quarter sleeves are designed to show off a delicate, jewel-adorned wrist. The back is secured with a hidden black zip and the dress is lined to the reverse of the silk in black viscose.
The label reads “Suzy Perette New York” and features the iconic motif of a woman posing with an umbrella. The perfect addition to the collection of any fans of Christian Dior’s “New Look” or of Suzy Perette itself. This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. A suggested best fit for up to a UK 8 or US 4.
